Summer Camps
Learning, Connection, and Wonder — One Summer at a Time
Summer at Stardust Sanctuary is hands-on, heart-forward, and full of animal magic. Campers learn through real experiences—caring for rescued animal ambassadors, exploring the science of the barn, creating art and projects inspired by nature, and building confidence through teamwork and compassion. Every registration helps support the daily care of the animals who call Stardust home.

Classic camp days. Meaningful experiences. Animal magic.
Summer at Stardust Sanctuary brings back the heart of old-school camp — unhurried days filled with creativity, music, animals, exploration, and connection. Campers spend their days outdoors, learning through hands-on experiences with rescued animal ambassadors, riding horses, making art, singing songs, and adventuring through the sanctuary.
Every camp week follows the same gentle rhythm so children know what to expect — while each day still holds something special and new.
What Every Camp Week Includes
All Stardust summer camps share the same daily structure, activities, and values.
Daily Camp Rhythm
(Activities rotate daily to match weather, group energy, and animal needs)
Morning Welcome & Grounding
Each morning begins with a calm arrival and gentle transitions into the day. Campers gather for morning circle, where we set intentions together, practice simple yoga and balance activities, and enjoy short, guided moments of mindfulness. This grounding start helps campers feel connected, present, and ready to step into the day with focus, kindness, and curiosity.
Animal Care & Connection
Campers spend meaningful time getting to know our rescued animal ambassadors through daily care and connection. They learn how to brush, assist with feeding routines, and read animal body language, building empathy and understanding through respectful, calm, hands-on interactions.
Equine (Horse, Pony, Donkey) Time
Horse time is a highlight of the day, offering age- and experience-appropriate grooming, leading, and care. Through gentle horsemanship games and guided activities, campers build confidence, body awareness, and trust — both in themselves and with their horses.
Creative Studio
In our Creative Studio, campers explore open-ended crafting and nature-inspired art using tactile materials and seasonal themes. Projects are imagination-led, encouraging self-expression, creativity, and the joy of making without pressure or perfection.
Music & Movement
Music and movement bring the group together through camp songs, rhythm games, storytelling, and playful movement. These old-fashioned camp moments foster connection, joy, and a shared sense of belonging that often becomes a favorite part of the day.
Adventuring & Exploration
Campers embark on daily adventures through the sanctuary, from guided walks and scavenger hunts to moments of quiet nature discovery. Cooperative games and imaginative play invite curiosity, teamwork, and a sense of wonder in the world around them.
Rest & Reset
Throughout the day, campers are given intentional time to rest and reset with snack breaks, shade, hydration, and quiet moments. These pauses help bodies and minds recharge, supporting emotional regulation and a balanced camp experience.
Closing Circle
Each day ends with a closing circle where campers reflect, express gratitude, and share highlights from their experiences. This gentle closing helps children integrate their day, celebrate growth, and leave feeling connected and seen.
This summer, Stardust will be hosting two specialty camps. Learn about them here:

Veterinary Camp
Veterinary Camp is an application-only, fully funded experience for ages 8+ that explores animal care and veterinary science through hands-on learning with rescued animals. Campers learn from visiting professionals while building compassion, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do camps differ week to week?
The general structure stays the same so kids feel secure — the magic comes from different projects, animals, and adventures each day. The exceptions are our Veterinary Camp the first week of summer which is available by application only and the second week for Horse Camp.
What about safety?
All activities are supervised by experienced staff. Animal interactions are intentional, calm, and respectful.
Are extended hours available?
At this time, camps run from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM. Families may indicate a need for additional support during registration, and we will follow up individually if options are available.
Can my child attend multiple weeks?
Absolutely. Repetition builds confidence, and no two weeks ever feel the same.
Who are camps designed for?
Our camps are designed for children who thrive in mixed-age, community-based settings, with activities thoughtfully adapted to meet campers where they are developmentally. Small group sizes allow for meaningful connection, individual attention, and a safe, supportive experience for every child.
What if it’s hot?
We adjust activities, increase rest and shade time, and prioritize camper well-being.
What should my camper bring?
Campers should arrive wearing closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing that can get messy. Please send a water bottle and sun protection, including a hat and sunscreen applied before arrival.
Do you offer scholarships?
Yes — limited scholarships are available.
